Practice Owner, Lead Clinician

As a therapist, my job is to help you increase awareness and understanding of yourself. If you are new to therapy, it may feel counter-intuitive to come to a stranger for help understanding yourself. In my experience, therapy is a partnership in which you bring the information, I bring a fresh perspective, and together, we make discoveries. This is where enhanced understanding of self takes place, and from here, change can begin.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) practicing in New York City. I have years of experience working with adults ages 18+. My style is primarily psychodynamic, meaning we’ll spend time talking about what your life has been like from childhood through to the present. In doing so, we’ll uncover where along the way you developed the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have become second nature to you - whether they serve you well or not. At times I use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, among others, incorporating them when it makes sense for each client.

I am particularly interested in and adept at working with those who struggle to develop and maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries; find themselves repeating maladatpive behaviors; experience feelings of “stuckness” and crave direction; are in recovery from substance abuse and/or addictive behaviors; have chronic depression, and more. I pay special attention to the needs of LGBTQ clients in therapy who face these same issues, as well as others.

Clinician

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), devoted to helping individuals prioritize their own needs and recognize their value. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for you to process, heal, and grow from whatever challenges you might be facing.

I received my Master of Social Work from Hunter College and completed a Post Master’s certification in Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice from New York University. My scope of practice includes working with adults of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and burnout. I specialize in supporting older adults and caregivers facing issues such as grief and loss, caregiver fatigue, complex family dynamics, and intergenerational trauma. I have specifically dedicated a large part of my career to working with individuals experiencing memory loss. I understand it is not always easy to find time for self-care when you are trying to keep up with life’s constant changes and focusing on the needs of others. I am passionate about providing an opportunity for individuals to focus on their own wellbeing, which will enhance their inner strength, ability to handle stress, improve relationships, and much more. When caregivers take care of themselves, those who depend on them will be better cared for, too.

I incorporate a range of modalities, including mindfulness and strengths-based approaches, into my practice. Together, we can reframe perspectives and discover impactful coping mechanisms to help you feel empowered each day. I recognize that each individual has their own unique  experience, and I strive to foster collaborative relationships that honor those experiences.
